When two little girls suddenly disappeared while playing outside their house on a thanksgiving evening, it brings nightmare to their parents and makes their lives miserable. Now the police and the parents have to find out who kidnapped their two girls with very less evidence on hand.
The Prisoners stars Hugh Jackman as Keller Drover who is one of the father of the missing child and Jake Gyllenhaal as Detective Loki who is trying to find the missing child by following proper evidence and instincts. Detective Loki has never failed to solve a case under him and
Hugh Jackman playing a father who will do anything to find his daughter and by any means.
I love the way they have captured the struggles of both the families who are victim of this kidnapping case in a realistic way. You can see their vulnerability due to the kidnapping of their kids. This movie also captures the personal struggles of the characters and their dark sides.
The entire movie is intense and feels like a big puzzle which at one point becomes unsolvable.
At one point in this movie, it becomes difficult even for the detective to solve the case due to many situations and reason.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman has done amazing job in this movie. I cant even describe how perfect they were as characters of this movie. Just watch this movie for these two characters, they are amazing in this one. Even the supporting characters where really good. This movie gets maximum plus points due to its characters.
The entire tone of the movie is dull and dark most of the time, which brings in more intensity to the movie. One of the best cinematography I have seen.
At one point if you sit down and try to solve the mystery you can predict who is the culprit. But don't do that as it will spoil the movie and it wont be fun anymore.
The climax of this movie is somewhat debatable as there are people who feel they didn't like it and others who think it is perfectly fine. But I didn't like the climax so much, it felt a little abrupt. I feel when a movie which is so intense and suspenseful, it should end with a happy note instead of more suspenseful note.
But, The Prisoners truly keeps you at the edge of your seat and gives you a lot of feels due to its strong yet emotional characters and plot-line. It make you feel gloomy through out the movie because of the characters.
This movie is truly worth a watch at least once. Do watch it guys it is a good movie.
