A Silent Voice is one of the best animation movie I have seen in a while.
As a wild youth, elementary school student Shouya Ishida is naughty and troublemaker. When the deaf Shouko Nishimiya transfers into his class, Shouya and the rest of his class friends thoughtlessly bully her for fun.
To the point where she transfers, Shouya is singled out and blamed for everything done to her. He is ostracized all throughout elementary and middle school. Even now, in his third year of high school, Shouya's past is brought up by everyone around him making him feel guilty and worst.
Truly regretting his past wrong doings, he sets out on a journey of redemption and meets Shouko once more and make amends.
Bullying is a very sensitive subject which is hardly ever brought up. And whenever it is brought up it is always from the point of view of the victim. But in this movie you get to know both the sides which is very rare. The Bully and the Bullied. Both of them suffer the consequences of the situation.
This movie deals with a very sensitive topic in a very mature and respectable way. It is very heart warming to watch these characters grow and see how they realise the meaning of life, friendship and love.
It shows how one mistake can taint and haunt your entire life. How easily you can become a social reject and how hard it is to find redemption. This movie has realistically captured all these aspects. The journey of these two characters is so moving and emotional that I cried a few times watching this movie. It was so beautiful yet heart breaking.
When it comes to animation it is important to set the tone right and this movie does it right. The animation is beautiful, vibrant and lively. It is truly a pleasure to watch.
This movie is truly amazing and I can't recommend it enough. If you guys have time to watch. please to watch this movie it won't disappoint you.
A Silent Voice definitely a MUST WATCH !!!!
