Top 5 Asian Dramas of 2017

I am extremely sorry you guys for not posting this blogpost for so long. As a drama watcher you always want to know what others are watching and what their favorite drama is. I couldn’t have a lot of drama this year as I was busy in many things. But from the ones I watched these are the ones that I enjoyed the most.

So these are my Top 5 Asian Dramas for 2017.

I m not a Robot (2017-2018)

Kim Min-Kyu is a young man who has lived an isolated life due to a severe human allergy. Jo Ji-Ah, who is a hard-working women trying to pursue her dream of owning a business. Both of their lives gets tangled when Ji-Ah’s ex-boyfriend asks her to replace his “Ji-Ah Resembling Robot” which is going to be tested by Min-Kyu.

What can I say about this drama? It is so good. From characters to chemistry, everything works in this drama. Yoo Seungho and Cho Soo-Bin nail the roles of their respective characters. They both are great actors sharing fantastic chemistry. Even though the story-line is not so great, the characters and their relationships make up for it.

I am truly enjoying this drama as it is still airing right now. A really fun watch. And also this drama has Best Ost I have listened to in a long time.

Strong Woman Do-Bong Soo (2017)

Strong woman Do-Bong Soo is a 2017 Rom-com thriller. It is one of the highly anticipated dramas of this year as it stars Park Bo-Young, Park Hyun-Sik and Ji-Soo.
It is a story about a girl (Park Bo-Young) with immense power and small stature. She is hired by a CEO (Park Hyun-Sik) as his Bodyguard. This one is hilariously amazing. I never thought I would love this drama so much. It is cutesy and fun to watch the two main leads. It was “keep your brain aside and watch” type of drama but l loved it.

The drama has great acting, main leads and amazing side characters. I highly recommend this drama if you have not watched it one.

Eternal Love: Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (2017)

Bai Qian is a princess of Qing Qiu a Fox Tribe, with the help of Zhe Yan she becomes a disciple of Mo Yuan, God of War. After a devastating war, immortals pay a huge price to seal the Ghost lord of Qing Cang. 70,000 years later, Bai Qian in attempt to re-seal the Ghost lord loses her memories and is send to mortal realm and there she meets Ye Hua, Crown Prince of Nine Heavens. And their love story begins.

If you have not watched this drama, then just go head and watch it now. I highly recommend this drama. This one is my personal favorite of the year.  I completely understand the hype around this drama because it so good. From characters to story to chemistry to the use of CGI. It is an epic master-piece you will ever watch.
I can talk about this drama for hours so you read my full review on the blog.

Defendant (2017)

Defendant is a story of a prosecutor Park Jeong Woo (Ji Sung) who is charged for killing own his family. Jeong Woo, now gets a short term memory loss and has no idea what has happened and what made him kill his family or whether or not he has killed them or is he being framed?

The rest of the story follows him trying to solve the mystery and finding out the real culprit behind all of this.

This was one intense ride. When they say it is thriller I swear they are not joking. The amount of “edge of the seat” sequences this drama is insane.

The story is fantastic and keeps you invested throughout the drama. When it is a Jisung drama I think you have to blindly watch it because they are 9/10 times amazing.
I highly suggest that you watch this drama at least once if you are a fan of suspense thriller. Read my full review of this drama on the blog.

While You Were Sleeping (2017)

Another drama which took me by surprise. From the makers of my all time favourite dramas I can hear you voice and Pinocchio comes While You Were Sleeping staring none other than Lee Jong- Suk. At first I was not really into the whole “dreams turning reality” type of drama but then I decide to give it a try and I do not regret.

While You Were Sleeping follows a woman (Bae Suzy) who has the ability to see unfortunate events in her dreams and a man who is a prosecutor (Lee Jong Suk), tries to stop these unfortunate events from happening. Its something that you have already seen. Dreams becoming reality.

I love the plot-line it is not something you have never watched before in the dreams turning into reality genre. But what makes this drama compelling to watch are the characters. Even though the story plays important role in this drama more than story you care for the characters in this drama.

It is good drama with good lead actors, one of them being my favourite Lee Jong-Suk. It has good side characters as well as interesting story-line.

So these were the dramas I enjoyed watching in 2017. I hope in 2018 I will watch drama that are much fun and exciting to bring more reviews for you guys.

Eternal Love : Ten Miles of Peach Blossom (2017) - Chinese Drama Review

Poster Credit : to the owner Recently I have been so busy that I don’t get time to watch many dramas but then I came across few clips of Eternal Love: Ten miles of Peach Blossom and I decided to watch it as it intrigued me. It was my best decision as it was so good. So hard to write summary for a fantasy drama as you don’t want to give too much away. The world created in this drama is so beautiful and magnificent to watch. But more than the world building, the characters are important as you cannot fall in love with a fantasy world without good characters in it.

Full House Thai Drama

photo credits: to the owner  I still remember the feeling I got by watching one of the famous Korean drama Full-house , which was utterly amazing. I had completed that drama within two days. I know it’s crazy but that’s how good the drama was and is. It was the first ever Asian drama I had watched, hence it holds a special place in my heart. If the original version was this good, I had to check out the new version of Full-house drama which was released in 2014, and I have to say that it was amazing. Full-house Thai Drama is remake of the same Korean drama Full-house, even though being the same story it does have its own colors and characteristics. Full-house is a story about a girl Aom-am who is tricked by her friends to go to Korea for a vacation so that they could sell her house and make money for themselves. Being a naïve girl, she is badly tricked and now a homeless girl she has nowhere to go. The only house she had was taken away from her by her own friends.
